One of the Valley’s premier gastroenterologists, Dr. Kazi has cared for patients throughout the Valley since 2004. Because nutrition and dietetics have always been an essential part of his gastroenterology and digestive clinical practice, he has created a new segment of services dedicated to patient nutrition.
Dr. Kazi trained at the University of Chicago before completing a fellowship at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL. Following several years in private practice in Chicago, he moved to Scottsdale and opened Colon & Digestive Health Specialists. With a special interest in advanced endoscopies such as ERCP and disorders of bile ducts and the pancreas, he performs upper endoscopy and (EGD), colonoscopy, PEG tube placements (feeding tubes), hemorrhoidal treatment and push enteroscopy (endoscopy of the small intestine).
Active in clinical research trials for conditions such as celiac disease and encephalopathy, Dr. Kazi serves in committee leadership at HonorHealth, as an assistant professor at Midwestern State University, School of Medicine, as a teacher at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and as an advisor and teacher of medical students and physician residents from local hospitals.
When he’s not in the office or performing procedures, he enjoys lecturing, reading, and travel. A long-time marathon runner, Dr. Kazi knows first-hand the importance of good nutrition.
“Growing the nutritional aspect of my practice is essential for the good of all my patients,” he said. “For true health, we need to incorporate a preventive aspect. And whether it’s for general wellness, weight management or addressing a digestive condition, good nutrition always plays a key role.”
